A cartridge developed in the 1890s for the Swedish–Norwegian army. Mild recoil and long, heavy-for-caliber bullets give good penetration; a popular hunting cartridge in Europe.
The 6.5×55 SE was designed by the Swedish–Norwegian rifle commission and has been in production since 1894. It was made for the Swedish Mauser rifles and later became widespread in hunting rifles.
Its long bullets of high sectional density give good penetration and accuracy at low recoil.
Lovačka upotreba
Used on roe deer, fallow deer, mouflon, wild boar and red deer depending on the bullet chosen; in Scandinavia also on moose. Typical bullet weights are 100–156 grain (6.5–10.1 g).
