20/76

20 gauge 3″ · 20 ga 76 mm · 20 gauge magnum · 20-as kaliber

A 20 gauge shotshell with a 76 mm (magnum) length. Suits lighter guns for small game and fowl, with less recoil than the 12/70.

The 20/76 is a 20 gauge shotshell with a 76 mm (3 in) case length. The nominal bore is 15.6 mm. The CIP maximum pressure for 20/76 is 1,050 bar, against 830 bar for 20/70, so the 76 mm shell may only be used in guns marked and chambered for it.

20 gauge guns are lighter and kick less; the magnum shell allows a shot charge approaching that of the 12/70.

Hunting use

Used on hare, pheasant, mallard and fox out to moderate range. Favoured with lighter guns on long days in the field, and by smaller-framed hunters.
